In 1980, the Mexican navy decided to intentionally sink this ship for the purpose of creating an artificial reef in Cancun. This wreck is 30 minutes away From our location. In 2005, hurricane Wilma caused the C-58 shipwreck to split into two.

2 Tank Dive Sleeping Shark Cave + Pailas Reef

The Cave of the Sleeping Sharks was discovered in 1969 and lies about 60 feet (20 meters) underwater, formed by coral formations that allow divers to get close to the resting sharks. Nurse sharks are most commonly seen in the cave and although they are harmless it is still exhilarating to be able to swim so close to them.

Just 30 minutes off the coast of Cancun near Isla Mujeres lies a popular diving destination called Cave of the Sleeping Sharks, which has baffled marine biologists everywhere. Sharks must constantly be in motion in order to breathe through their skins, but in this cave the sharks can use bubbles from underwater springs to breathe, allowing them to “sleep” completely still.

Night Dive

Diving at night in this area it’s completely different from a day dive. You can only see the the underwater life in the Caribbean illuminated by your dive light so this amplifies your senses and your concentration is focused on one small tunnel of light.

Colors are vivid at night so the multicolored reef formations are vibrant and intensified. As the day time sea creatures hide away, the night time critters come out to play. Watch octopus, lobster and moray eels glide over their natural habitat during your Isla Mujeres night dive.
